Článek se zamýšlí nad protesty proti zákazu býčích zápasů, které se v Tamilnádu odehrály v roce 2017. Snaží se celou záležitost kontextualizovat a představit důvody zákazu i argumentaci protestujících. Ti se ohrazují vůči výrokům Nejvyššího soudu, ale také vůči tamilské a ústřední vládě či organizaci PETA. Zákaz dávají do souvislosti s údajnými snahami potlačit tamilskou kulturu, zdecimovat domácí plemena skotu a ovládnout trh s mlékem. Dále článek představuje některé menšinové názory, zejména názory dalitů a žen, a všímá si policejní brutality doprovázející poslední den protestů.

The article reflects protests against the ban on bullfights that occurred in Tamil Nadu in January 2017. It tries to contextualize the whole affair and present the reasons for the ban as well as argumentation of the protesters. They protest against the verdict of the Supreme Court, against steps taken by the central as well as the Tamil government and also against the organization PETA. They associate the ban with the alleged efforts to suppress Tamil culture, decimate the local breeds of cattle and seize control over the milk market. Further the article brings some minor opinions, especially that of Dalits and women. It also takes notice of police brutality on the last day of protests.
