Studie se zaměřuje na roli apokalyptických proroctví v husitských Čechách. Nebiblická proroctví, stejně jako aktualizované výklady biblických profetik chápe jako prostředek proklamující a legitimizující společenskou a náboženskou změnu, k níž došlo v Čechách během první poloviny 15. století. Z nebiblických proroctví se studie zaměřuje především na různá čtení spisu Vademecum in tribulatione Jana Rupescissy a texty Hildegardy z Bingenu a spisy jí připisované. Vedle nebiblických proroctví je pozornost zaměřena rovněž na výklady Zjevení sv. Jana, jež vzešly od husitských autorů, na prvním místě Jakoubka ze Stříbra a Mikuláše Biskupce z Pelhřimova. Žánr pastorální exegese Janova Zjevení autorka chápe jako příznačný pro husitské písemnictví.

The study focuses on the role of apocalyptic prophecies in Hussite Bohemia. The author understands non-Biblical prophecies - just as topical expositions of Biblical prophecies - as a medium announcing and legitimizing the social and religious changes which transpired in Bohemia over the first half of the fifteenth century. The study focuses especially on the various versions of John Rupescissa’s Vademecum in tribulation circulating in Bohemia, and texts by Hildegard of Bingen and those attributed to her. Apart from non-Biblical prophecies, attention is also given to the expositions of John’s Revelation, penned by the Hussite authors Jakoubek of Stříbro and Nicholas Biskupec of Pelhřimov. The genre of pastoral exegesis of John’s Revelation is considered typical for Hussite authors.
