Kapitola se zabývá metodologií studia Platóna, tzv. “closereading”, a využitím tzv. typologie dialogů podle formálních kritérií. Autor nejprve nabídne přehled bádání od IXX. stol. a poté podá vlastní typologii dialogů, v níž rozliší celkem 6 typů Platónova dialogu: dialog bez partnera, raný sókratovský dialog, tranzitivní dialog, polemický dialog, vrcholný dialog a ryze formální dialog. Na závěr autor ukazuje cestu od platónské dialektiky k jádru každého filosofování.

The chapter deals with the methodology of Platonic studies, “closereading” and the typology of dialogues according to formal criteria. After description of the state of research the author presents his own typology of dialogues: dialogue without a partner, early Socratic dialogue, transitive dialogue, polemical dialogue, top dialogue and purely formal dialogue. Finally, the author shows the way from Platonic dialectic to the core of every philosophical process.
