Úvahy o postavení české středověké a moderní epigrafiky mezi ostatními vědami, o historii a metodě její vysokoškolské výuky a perspektivách udržitelnosti epigrafického výzkumu. Příspěvek se pokouší odpovědět na otázku, zda je možné řešení neutěšeného stavu sekundárního katalogového zpřístupnění nápisů a tak produkovat studie s širším záběrem, než pouze regionálním.

Considerations of the position of Czech medieval and modern epigraphy among the other sciences, history and methodology of its college education and the perspectives of the sustainability of epigraphic research nowadays. The article tries to answer the question of whether it is possible considering the dismal state of the secondary acces to the insriptions through catalogues and so on to produce studies that can have a broader overview and significance than a merely regional.
