Akce s předsedkyní Akademie věd ČR profesorkou Evou Zažímalovou byla zaměřena na začínající vědkyně. Profesorka Zažímalová mluvila o výzvách, kterým ve své vědecké kariéře čelila, o drobných neúspěších a rizikových faktorech vědecké profese. Po akci následovala podnětná diskuze, ze které vyplynulo, že mezi největší problémy patří kombinace vědecké práce a rodičovství, grantový systém a hodnocení vědecké práce.

On 15 October 2018, the Centre for Gender and Science organised brunch with Eva Zažímalová, President of Czech Academy of Sciences and young female researchers. Professor Zažímalová talked about her personal path to scientific career, focusing on the barriers she faced as a young researcher, her successes and failures in her profession. The rich discussion that followed highlighted the many issues facing early-career women researchers, including work-life balance issues, the constraints of the grant system and research evaluation.
