Kniha představuje málo poznané středočeské hradiště a dvě s ním současná raně středověká pohřebiště v Klecanech. Pohřebiště II leželo uvnitř hradiště při cestě procházející hradištěm, pohřebiště I bylo vzdáleno cca 470 m od linie opevnění a bylo větší. Na obou pohřebištích pohřbívala místní elita, na pohřebišti I se pohřbívalo již v poslední třetině 9. století, na výlučnějším pohřebišti II až od přelomu 9. a 10. století do konce 10. století. Pohřbívání na tomto pohřebišti bylo silněji ovlivněno křesťanskými pravidly. Sociálně diferenciované komunity spolu s posunem v datování osídlení na hradišti ukazují hlavní význam hradiště v 10. století, kdy bylo opticky i díky brodu funkčně spojené se známějším Levým Hradcem. Zároveň bylo spolu s Prahou-Vinoří aj. součástí širší sítě hradišť chránících Prahu od severu, východu a jihu. Interdisciplinární bádání ozřejmuje v mikrosondách různé aspekty zdraví, života, duchovních představ a smrti našich předků.

The relatively unknown hillfort in Klecany is situated on the right bank of the Vltava River at the gateway to the Prague basin. There are also two burial grounds, one more prominent inside the hillfort (dating to the 10th century, No. II), and another at a distance of about 470 m from the hillfort (from the 9th to the beginning of the 11th century), both with graves of the elite. The burying on the No. II evokes an impression of having been more impacted by Christian principles. The socially differenced communities together with the earlier dating of settlement and building of the hillfort show a main importance of it during 10th century. It was functionally and also in visual contact with both earlier built Levý Hradec and Prague. This hillfort was a part of the regular network of the hillforts protecting the Prague centre from the north, the east and the south. Interdisciplinary research clarifies various aspects of a health, life, religious imagery and death of the ancient people.
