Ve sbírkách Ústavu dějin umění AV ČR, v.v.i. byly objeveny a jsou postupně editovány nepublikované svazky Soupisu památek historických a uměleckých v království Českém, které jsou stále základní literaturou pro české dějiny umění. Jsou stále živými odbornými texty a zároveň autentickými prameny k dobovému uměleckohistorického výzkumu. Význam, metoda a materiálový rámec editování a publikování tohoto soupisu a podobných textů v dalších českých institucích jsou obsahem této kolektivní publikace.

In the collections of the Institute of Art History of the CAS, v.v.i. were discovered and have been edited the unpublished manuscripts of the Inventory of the Historical and Artistic Monuments in the Kingdom Bohemia…, still the basic field literature for the Czech art history. They are a living professional text and at the same time an authentic period source of art-historical research. Meaning, method and material framework of editing and publishing of this inventory and similar texts in other Czech institutions is the content of this collective publication.
