Příspěvek se zabývá pojmem odpovědnosti u H. Jonase a E. Lévinase a jejich společnými rysy, které vyplývají z fenomenologické filosofie a zdroje v židovském náboženství: Odpovědnost za druhého není výsledkem vlastní volby a vztah odpovědnosti je striktně asymetrický. Volání k odpovědnosti vyplývá z křehkosti druhého. Obě tyto etiky odpovědnosti mají schopnost inspirovat k morálnímu jednání, ačkoli pro něj nedávají jasná kritéria.

The paper is focused on concepts of responsibility elaborated by H. Jonas and by E. Lévinas and their common features, following from phenomenological philosophy and the background in Jewish religion: Responsibility for the other is not a result of one´s own choice, and the relation in it is strictly asymmetric. The call for responsibility follows from the vulnerability of the other. These ethics of responsibility have power to inspire moral action, in spite of the fact that they do not give clear criteria for it.
