Le point de départ de cette contribution est une des questions les plus fondamentales de l’œuvre de Tengelyi, à savoir celle de l’émergence du sens et la possibilité de son expression. Nous allons montrer qu’afin de pouvoir saisir la relation entre la formation et l’expression du sens, Tengelyi remplace la différence husserlienne entre le vécu et l’objet apparaissant avec la différence entre l’ipséité du sens et l’ipséité du Soi. C’est sur la base de cette différence que nous allons distinguer deux types d’infinis : l’infini potentiel, ancré dans un sujet et l’infini virtuel qui est au-delà des possibilités d’un sujet transcendantal. Nous tenterons d’éclaircir la nature transcendantale de l’infini virtuel et de mettre en évidence son rôle dans l’émergence du sens comprise en tant qu’événement.

The point of departure of the present paper is one of the fundamental questions of Tengelyi’s work: namely, that of the emergence of meaning and the possibility of its expression. I will show that, in order to grasp the relationship between the formation and the expression of meaning, Tengelyi replaces the Husserlian difference between lived experience and the thing that appears with the difference between the ipseity of meaning and the ipseity of the self. It is on the basis of this difference that I will distinguish two types of infinities: the potential infinity, rooted in a subject, and the virtual infinity that exceeds the possibilities of a transcendental subjectivity. I will attempt to clarify the transcendental nature of the virtual infinity and to highlight its role in the emergence of meaning understood as an event.
