Cílem příspěvku je charakteristika pojmenovávání pražských veřejných prostranství po druhé světové válce. Důraz je kladen na zachycení témat a motivů, která se objevila v poválečné společnosti a která také ovlivnila tehdejší urbanonymii (např. degermanizace, oslava našich východních i západních osvoboditelů, pocta padlým, příklon k husitské tradici, glorifikace meziválečného Československa apod.). Příspěvek také ukazuje ideologické a politické vlivy na pojmenovávání ulic po roce 1948.

The aim of the paper is to describe specific trends in the development of Prague street names following the end of the Second World War. The main purpose of the research is to show all topics, which arose in post-war society and which also influenced post-war street naming (e. g. eliminating symbols of Nazi Germany, celebrating of our west and east rescuers, laudation of dead heroes, turnover to hussite tradition, turnover to interwar Czechoslovakia etc.). The paper also shows examples of ideological and political influences on street naming after 1948.
