Using examples from four different types of mineral associations from the Bohemian Massif (greisen-, gold-, base metal-, and barren granite-related) and one porphyry Cu-Mo(Au) deposit from Uzbekistan we document that molybdenite from specific types of mineralization possess a distinct trace element chemical compositions which are often reflected in the presence of relevant mineral phases occurring in the form of nano-, to micro-scale impurities/inclusions.
