This paper presents an analysis of the distribution disjunction in the central part of the Sudetes, a mountain range in central Europe. This disjunction in the distribution of vascular plants deals mainly with species occurring in the highest Sudetic mountain massifs that are over 100 km from one another. The problems that were studied include: a) the distribution pattern of 55 taxa of the Sudetes defined on the basis of chorological studies; b) the types of distribution of these plants in Europe based on a hierarchic system of floristic geoelements; and c) vertical ranges of taxa with a special focus on their absolute minimal and maximal altitudes.
