Block copolymers forming supramolecular assemblies of the micellar or polymerosomal type in aqueous media represent materials that are extremely useful for the construction of drug delivery systems especially for cancer applications. The micellar and polymerosomal formulations suppress unwanted physicochemical properties of the encapsulated drugs, modify biodistribution of the drugs toward targeted delivery into tissues of interest, and allow triggered release of the active cargo.
