The atmospheric corrosion and classification of atmospheric corrosivity is long-term subject of study of SVUOM. In co-operation with CGS the maps of atmospheric corrosion rates and corrosivity categories had created for carbon steel, weathering steel, zinc, copper, bronze and aluminium in 2001. Actual results of study together with changes of climate parameters and air pollution levels in the Czech Republic, the effect of de-icing salts around the highways, and also the new possibility to include GIS parameters into these maps for better identification localities have been used for creation of new, actual maps. Data on air pollutants and climate parameters as month averages and dose-response functions updated recently input in the calculation of corrosion rates.
