A series of multi-component materials on the base of titania doped with niobium, copper and/or cobalt oxides was prepared and tested as catalysts for the total oxidation of ethyl acetate. The obtained materials are characterized by a complex of various physicochemical techniques, such as atomic absorption spectroscopy, nitrogen physisorption, XRD, UV–Vis, FTIR, temperature programmed reduction with hydrogen and compared with the corresponding analogues supported on conventional silica. Both TiO2 and TiO2–Nb2O5 supports improve the synergistic effects in copper and cobalt bi-component modifications as compared to the conventional silica support, which is induced by their strong interaction with loaded active species.
