Chemnitz Petrified Forest in Germany is one of the most spectacular Permian fossil forest sites around the world. A catastrophic event of rhyolitic explosive volcanism preserved the plant ecosystem in situ as a whole (representing T0 assemblage). This paper deals with the newest scientific results crosswise geological branches based on miscellaneous data gained from a recent Chemnitz excavation.
