Soubor studií s komentovanou antologií textů představuje a dokumentuje proměnu vztahů české vědy a Rukopisů královédvorského a zelenohorského v letech 1817 až 1885 v širším nadnárodním rámci recepce obou evropsky vlivných romantických podvrhů. Na základě materiálu z této diskuse o Rukopisech se soubor soustřeďuje na otázku, jakým způsobem zapůsobil "objev" Rukopisů na soudobou českou historii a jaké funkce zaujímaly Rukopisy při formování českého národa v průběhu 19. století.

The collection of studies together with the annotated anthology of texts presents and documents the changing face of relations between Czech scholarship and the Dvůr Králové and Zelená Hora manuscripts between 1817 and 1885 within the broader supranational framework of the contemporary reception of both influential in Europe romantic forgeries. Using the material of this discussion over the manuscripts it places emphasis on the question of which context was behind the “discoveries” of the manuscripts, which affected modern Czech history, and how the manuscripts continued to work to form the modern Czech nation during the 19th century.
