Ritualizované jednání jako součást veřejné symbolické komunikace měla ve středověku více funkcí a forem než tomu je dnes. Potvrzuje to také soubor 7 studií v této antologii, která s výjimkou vesničanů představuje širokou skladbu středověké společnosti od královské rodiny až k obyvatelům měst.

Ritualized conduct as a component of public symbolic communication had more functions and forms in the Middle Ages just like it does today. It is proved also by the 7 studies in this anthology, which with the exception of villagers contains a broad stratification of medieval society from the royal family through burghers.
