In this contribution we report on novel attenuated total reflectance (ATR) FTIR employing diamond-coated silicon prism. Diamond coating is prepared in the thickness of about 200 nm by linear antenna MW-CVD process and with the surface oxidized or hydrogenated in r.f. plasma. Based on the ATR FTIR measurements, we discuss the properties and stability of as-recieved diamond nanoparticles, and compare them with DNPs modified by hydrogen and oxygen treatment
