Státní kontrola nad sportem vymizela po Sametové revoluci. Začíná éra "privatizace" či "zintimnění" sportu. Ambiciózní plány, které potřebují silnou podporu společnosti, však nejsou úspěšné, jak je to zřejmé z pokusu pražského magistrátu uspořádat olympijské hry v roce 2016.
The state control over sports was missing after the Velvet Revolution. The era of the "privatization" or "intimization" of sports beginnings. The ambitious plans, which need a strong support of society, however, are not succesfull, as it is obvious from the attempt of Prague municipality to arrange the Olympic games in 2016.
