Originální latinský text Benediktovy Řehole byl navzdory svému významu pro evropské mnišství zřídka překládán do jiných jazyků. Jeho charvátskohlaholský překlad, jenž vznikl ve 14. století v Dalmácii, tím tedy získává na významu, ačkoliv v současné době stojí mimo pozornost většího vědeckého zájmu. Následující příspěvek se ve stručnosti zabývá problematikou překladu tohoto díla do dalších evropských jazyků a především pak překladovou technikou latinské polovětné konstrukce ablativu absolutního. Těžiště tohoto příspěvku spočívá ve shrnutí získaného materiálu a v následné analýze překladové techniky latinského ablativu absolutního do církevní slovanštiny chorvatské redakce.

The original Latin text of The Rule of Saint Benedict was in the early Middle Ages, despite of its importance for the European monasticism, rarely translated into other languages. Its Croatian-glagolic translation, which originated in the 14th century in Dalmatia, then becomes even more valuable, but despite of its undoubted importance, in the meantime it stands apart the larger interest of researchers. The following report briefly discusses the question of translations of The Rule of Saint Benedict from Latin into other languages and it describes the problems of the Latin half-sentential construction of the ablative absolute. The focus of this report is a summary of the findings obtained by analyzing the translation method of this Latin construction into the Old Church Slavonic, based on the materials from the Croatian glagolitic text of The Rule of Saint Benedict.
