Text pojednává o raně středověkých hradech v centrální části Čech, tedy na území spjatém s počátky Přemyslovců a se vznikem raného českého státu. Nejprve se zabývá datováním hradů, které je většinou odkázáno pouze na archeologické prameny, jejichž chronologie se v posledních letech poměrně výrazně upřesnila. Na základě přehledné bilance pak následuje stručný nástin vývoje hradů v průběhu 9. a 10. století. V závěru jsou poznatky konfrontovány s dosavadním pojetím tzv. přemyslovské domény.

The text addresses early medieval strongholds in the central part of Bohemia – the territory connected with the beginnings of the Přemyslid dynasty and the formation of the early Czech state. We first deal with the dating of strongholds, mostly on the basis of archaeological sources alone. The chronology of these buildings has been elaborated significantly in recent years. On the basis of a synoptic review a summary of the development of strongholds during the 9th and 10th centuries is then presented. The conclusion offers a comparison of this new information with existing concepts of the "Přemyslid domain," which, in the author's opinion, requires revision.
