Jak można ocenić obecny stan badań nad dziejami stosunków czesko-polskich w XIX wieku? Czy rok 1989 przyniósł jakościową zmianę w tej materii? W czym różnią się długookresowo spojrzenia czeskiej i polskiej historiografii oraz dlaczego? Zwłaszcza na wymienione pytania próbuje udzielić odpowiedzi niniejszy artykuł pomyślany jako część składowa dialogu pomiędzy czeskimi i polskimi historykami o problemach wspólnej historii.

How can the current state of research on the history of Czech-Polish relations in the 19th century be evaluated? Did the year 1989 bring about a qualitative change in this area? In what ways are the long-term perspectives of Czech and Polish historiography different, and for what reasons? This study, which is intended to be part of the dialogue between Czech and Polish historians about issues in their common history, pays particular attention to the aforementioned questions.
