Quasi-3D plasmonic nanostructures consist of periodic arrays of verticaly separated layers of gold nanodisks and nanoholes in thin film. Influence of inter-layer depth, substrate and spacer material on electrical field distribution and SERS was investiagted both theoretically and experimentally. Oscillations of field strength and SERS with depth were found and shown to be related to Fabry-Perot interference between the metal layers.
