Smysl stručného příspěvku o architektuře v jižních Čechách v 2. polovině 16. století je poukázat na její vazby s evropským kulturním prostředím. Zajímavý je např. fakt, že první vydání tzv. VII. knihy o architektuře od Sebastiana Serlia, jednoho z nejvlivnějších teoretiků architektury té doby vůbec, byla věnována Vilémovi z Rožmberka. Příspěvek ukazuje ale i na vazby v rámci tzv. zaalpské architektury (Innsbruck, Antwerpy).

The aim of the short article about the architecture in southern Bohemia in the second half of the 16th century is to document contacts with European cultural context. E.g. one interesting phenomenon is presented here, that the VIIth book of the Treatise on architecture by Sebastiano Serlio, probably the most influencing architect of this time, was dedicated to Wilhelm of Rosenberg. But also other contacts in transalpine architecture of the time are shown here (Innsbruck, Antwerpen).
