Kniha kriticky rozebírá otázky měření v psychologii. Zabývá se historií přístupů k měření, otázkami validity, reliability, tvorby norem psychologických metod. Zpracovává také speciální témata teorie zobecnitelnosti, Raschových modelů a teorie odpovědi na položku, a teorie znalostních prostorů. Kriticky hodnotí výhody a nevýhody jednotlivých přístupů.

The book critically elaborates issues of the measurement in psychology. It deals with the history of the approaches to measurement, issues of validity, reliability, creating of the norms of the psychological methods. It elaborates also specific issues of generalizability theory, Rasch models and item response theory, and knowledge space theory. It critically evaluates advantages and disadvantages of individual approaches.
