A performance of a fluid machine based on a new principle is analyzed. The machine transforms fluid flow energy into mechanical energy of rotating motion without using any turbine blades. Starting from the balance of momentum in the Crocco's formulation, the decisive influence of entropy gradient is shown. The non-monotonic distribution of radial velocity component is important for the onset of the driving force of angular instability. This instability and the existence of radial fluid motion give to arise the angular volume force.
