The occurrence of the Masked Tityra (Tityra semifasciata) in Brazil has traditionally been considered to be restricted to the Amazon region and the ecotone between the Amazon Forest and Cerrado (savannas). Here we present 18 records of T. semifasciata obtained from eight localities in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, in regions including both the Cerrado biome and ecotones between the Cerrado and semi-deciduous seasonal forests of the Paraná River basin, under the Atlantic domains. The data presented here substantially expand our knowledge of the geographic distribution of T. semifasciata in Brazil.
