The Kaolin and fly ash slurries were measured on the experimental pipeline loop of inner diameter 17.5, 26.8 and 36 mm. An attention was paid to the laminar/turbulent transition, which can be well indicating by pressure fluctuations. At the beginning of the laminar/turbulent transition the hydraulic gradient steeply increases with increasing velocity. It is accompanied by the different patterns of the differential pressure fluctuation for the laminar, transitional and turbulent regimes. In the laminar regime the pressure fluctuations are of small amplitude and temporally limited. A high level of instability, eddy formation and pressure fluctuation are characteristic for the transition region, the amplitude of pressure fluctuations increases with increasing slurry velocity. For the turbulent regime the frequency of pressure pulsations becomes higher and due to filtration of the pressure signal the pressure gradient record seems to be relatively smoother.
