Effects of indirubin, a putative novel ligand of aryl hydrocarbon receptor, had been tested in an in vitro model of rat oval cells, and compared with the effects of model toxic ligand, TCDD. We observed dose-sependent differences in indirubin action on AhR activation and on expression of selected genes known to be regulated by AhR/ARNT signaling pathway.
