Zabývá se mechanizmy destabilizace a průběhem agregačních procesů a uvádí základní přehled zařízení využívaných k homogenizaci destabilizačních činidel a k tvorbě suspenze (agregaci).

The publication describes the chemical composition and properties of both organic and inorganic impurities often present in surface water and reagents used in water treatment. It deals with attractive and repulsive forces acting between particles of impurities and reagents when they come into contact with each other. It deals with mechanisms of destabilisation and the course of aggregation and states the basic overview of devices used for the reagent homogenisation and suspension formation (aggregation). The attention is also paid to aggregate properties that influence following separation processes and to methods of their measurement. Further, the publication brings the information about possibilities of monitoring and evaluation of destabilisation and aggregation efficiency, deals with the process optimisation with the use of laboratory and pilot plant tests, and summarizes the knowledge of treatability of surface water with clays, humic matter and algal organic matter.
