Colin Ward byl velmi známým a nejoriginálnějším britským anarchistou druhé poloviny 20. století, jeho dílo a činnost zůstávaly dosud v českém prostředí neznámými. Jeho anarchismus nebyl spekulativní vizí budoucí anarchistické společnosti, ale představoval takovou neautoritativní podobu společnosti, jež se opírá o zkušenosti každodenního života a realizuje se paralelně vedle a navzdory stávající autoritativní společnosti. Svůj anarchismus prezentoval v práci Anarchismus v akci (1973, přeloženo v příloze publikace), jež naznačuje směřování ke společenství, jež se vytváří samo bez autority jako setba pod sněhem, pod tíhou státu a jeho byrokracie, kapitalismu a jeho pustošení, privilegií a jejich nespravedlnosti, nacionalismu a jeho sebevražedných zastánců, náboženských rozdílů a jejich separatismu.

Although Colin Ward was very known and the most original British anarchist writer of the second half of the twentieth century, his work and activity remained yet in the Czech milieu fully the unknown. His kind of anarchism was not a speculative vision of a future society, but it was a description of a mode of human organization, rooted in the experience of everyday life, which operates side by side with, and in spite of, the dominant authoritarian trends of present society. His book Anarchy in Action (1973, translated in the supplement), which was Ward´s only work on the theory of anarchism, he makes entirely explicit his highly original anarchism, that an anarchist society, a society which organizes itself without authority, is always in existence, like a seed beneath the snow, buried under the weight of the state and its bureaucracy, capitalism and its waste, privilege and its injustices, nationalism and its suicidal loyalties, religious differences and their superstitious separatism.
