Text reaguje na příspěvek M. Dospěla otištěný v Pražských egyptologických studiích VI, 2009. Autor nejprve vyvrací Dospělovy invektivy vůči své šest let staré přednášce, dále shrnuje postup svého bádání nad dílem I. dílu Itineraria. Podrobná komparace s itinerářem Jakuba Římaře z Kroměříže (1682-1755), odhalila zcela překvapivé skutečnosti a bádání nabralo nový směr. Byla zjištěna silná závislost obou těchto cestopisných děl – Římařův spis Prutkému totiž posloužil velkou měrou jako pretext, a to nejen při psaní výkladových kapitol o Egyptě a přilehlých oblastech, ale i v případě subjektivně laděných pasáží. Prutkého dílo je specifikum, představující ojedinělý případ nakládání s prameny, který patrně nemá v naší starší cestopisné literatuře obdoby. Ukázalo se, že tyto závěry, které vyplynuly z dlouhodobějšího přípravného studia a byly publikovány již dříve před Dospělovou kritikou, nevzal její původce vůbec na vědomí.

The reaction to the article by M. Dospěl published in the Pražské egyptologické studie VI, 2009. The author refuses Dospěl’s invectives against his lecture delivered six years ago. Further on, it summarizes the author's research on the first volume of the Itinerarium itself. A detailed comparison of this work with the itinerary written by Jakub Římař of Kroměříž (1682–1755), has revealed some new facts providing an impetus for a further research. A close dependence of both works was discovered: the treatise by Římař was used by Prutký as a pretext, and Prutký used it not only for his own narrative chapters on Egypt but also for the passages written in rather subjective tone. Prutký’s work thus represents a particular example of using the sources without any analogy in the older travel books of Bohemian origin. These conclusions which were published before the critique of Dospěl, were not taken into account by Dospěl at all.
