The scrape-off layer (SOL) ion (Ti) and electron (Te) temperatures were measured in ohmic plasmas of the Tore Supra tokamak for a wide range of main plasma parameters. Ti increases strongly with the intensity of the toroidal magnetic field Bt, whereas Te is nearly unaffected. The ion-to-electron temperature ratio tau= Ti/Te ~ Bt2.5 and is a weak function of plasma density and plasma current. Close to the last closed flux surface tau = 2->6 so that equipartition is never reached. The SOL ion temperature e-folding length is about 30% greater than the electron temperature e-folding length meaning that tau increases with radius in the SOL.
