V roce 1863 vyjádřila Jednota pro dostavbu katedrály sv. Víta v Praze zájem pořizovat odlitky uměleckých děl a detailů z pražské katedrály pro vlastní ´muzeum´. Jako první byla zhotovena série byst z dolního triforia. Mnoho odlitků bylo pořízeno za vedení architektů Josefa Mockera (1872 - 1899) a Kamila Hilberta (1899 - 1933). Sbírka odlitků je systematicky rozvíjena dodnes.

In 1863, the Union for the Completion of St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle expressed the interest in making plaster casts of important artworks and fragments in Prague Cathedral for their own ´Museum´. At first they made a series of triforium busts. A large number of casts were made under the direction of architects Josef Mocker (1872 – 1899) and Kamil Hilbert (1899 – 1933). The collection of documentary plaster casts ist systematically developed.
