Zdeněk Wirth je jednou z klíčových osobností mezi historiky umění první poloviny 20. století. Jeví se jako universální osobnost s širokým rozsahem zájmů v oblasti vizuálních umění a velké pestrosti témat. Jedním z jeho preferovaných téma byly historické zahrady. Muchka se ve svém příspěvku pokouší odkrýt některé dobové zdroje, které Wirtha v této specializaci formovaly.

Zdeněk Wirth is one of the most importing Czech art historians in the first half of the 20th century and a universal figure, whose interest covered both a broad time span of the visual arts and a great variety of topics. One of his predilections was development of Bohemian gardens in European context. Muchka is attempting to raise questions of the sources of knowledge, which Wirth acquired at the beggining of his career.
