Článek pojednává o počátcích české terminologie týkající se knihtisku. Soustředí se na dva výrazy, které jsou spojeny s tiskem knih, slovesa tisknúti a tlačiti (a jejich odvozeniny). Obě slovesa se objevují ve starých tiscích a v také v historických slovnících po dlouhou dobu, od počátků (15. století) do poloviny 20. století. V článku je uvedeno množství citací ze starých tisků a z historických slovníků (např. ze slovníků Daniela Adama z Veleslavína, T. Rešelia, J. A. Komenského, V. J. Rosy, J. Dobrovského atd.).

The article deals with the beginning of the book-printing terminology in the Czech language. It concentrates on two words, which are related to the book-printing, the verbs tisknúti and tlačiti (and their derivates). Both verbs occur in old editions and also in historical dictionaries from the very beginning (the 15th century) to the first half of the 20th century. Many quotations from the old editions and mainly from the historical dictionaries are included in the article (e. g. from the dictionaries of Daniel Adam of Veleslavín, T. Rešelius, J. A. Komenský, V. J. Rosa, J. Dobrovský, etc.).
