Several individuals of Temnothorax jailensis (Arnoldi, 1977) were collected in lower Thaya river floodplain near Lednice and Ladná, 165–180 m a.s.l. T. jailensis is arboricolous species inhabiting forest steppes and open woodlands known from the Crimea (Ukraine), Slovakia , Austria, Italy and the Balkans. It first record of the species in the Czech Republic. The species is considered critically endangered in the Czech Republic.
