A recent advent of extreme ultraviolet (XUV) and soft X-ray (SXR) lasers enables investigation of interactions of high-frequency, high-amplitude electromagnetic field with atomic and molecular gases. A theoretical description of anisolated He atom in strong femtosecond and nanosecond pulses of 50nm laser radiation is presented.
