Studie pojednává o několika generacích malířských současníků K. Škréty v Praze a Čechách, jejichž tvorba sahá od pozdně manýristického projevu, přes konzervativní slohově obtížně zařaditelnou tvorbu, až po umělce vyjadřující se plně barokním způsobem.
The essay focuses on Prague and Bohemian painters whose work was contemporary to that of Karel Škréta to illustrate the context of his achievement. Their style of work extends from late Manierist through conservative to fully Baroque style.
