Založení kláštera cisterciaček na Starém Brně r. 1323 patřilo k nejvýznamnějším fundacím rané lucemburské éry, jeho zakladatelka královna Eliška Rejčka díky bohatému vybavení kostela i kláštera a svému privátnímu programu s tím spojenému posílila pozici Brna jako centra dvorského umění na Moravě.

The fundation of the Cistercian convent in Stare Brno/Aula Sanctae Mariae in 1323 is the most important realisation of the female ecclesiastical institution of the early Luxembourg era: Queen Elisabeth Richenza and her command of all liturgical equipment for the convent and the private programme of this royal fundatrix reinforced Brno as a center of court art in Moravia.
