Monografie se soustřeďuje na procesní mechanismy, jejichž účelem je zajistit dodržování dělby pravomocí mezi EU a jejími členskými státy. Význam těchto mechanismů je v EU naléhavější než v jakékoli jiné mezinárodní organizaci, protože jak rozsah, tak cíle pravomocí svěřených EU jsou širší, než je obvyklé v mezinárodním kontextu, a to s ohledem na integrační povahu EU.

The monograph focuses on procedural mechanisms whose purpose is to assure the respect for separation of powers between the EU and its Member States. The importance of these mechanisms is more urgent in the EU than in any other international organization because both the extent and goals of powers conferred on the EU are wider than in usual international context due to the integration character of the EU.
