JM118 is the major metabolite of satraplatin. The results of DNA-protein cross-linking assay and DNA repair synthesis by cell-free extract showed a higher DNA-protein cross-linking efficiency of JM118 and less efficient removal from DNA of the adducts of JM118 in comparison with cisplatin.
