Cílem tohoto textu bylo identifikovat faktory, jež pomáhají vysvětlit důvěru ve vybrané politické instituce České republiky. Jako teoretický rámec pro toto zkoumání byl využit life-time learning model, který spojuje kulturní a institucionální přístupy při vysvětlování důvěry v instituce. Výsledky analýz ukázaly, že větší vliv na konkrétní hladinu důvěry má spíše institucionální performance, než vliv osvojený během socializace v rámci panující politické kultury, který nebyl již tak výrazný.

This article sets out to identify the factors that can help explain trust in selected political institutions in the Czech Republic. The life-time learning model was used as the theoretical framework for this investigation. The results of the analyses showed that the particular level of trust in an institution is influenced more by institutional performance than by the effect of socialization within the predominant political culture, which was not very strong.
