Forest edges represent the environment similar to traditionally managed forests. These edges contain rare and endangered species of plants and animals, that usually were the component of traditionally managed forests in former times. This entry tries to clear up which environmental factors are important to existence of the endangered species. The most important factors are: slope exposure, gradient of slope, situation within the slope, grain of soil. Very important are landuse and management of the surrounding.
