Monografie představuje ucelený popis slovotvorby východomoravských nářečí s ohledem na jazykovězeměpisnou situaci. Jako komplexní popis tvoření slov ve vybrané nářeční skupině je první prací svého druhu. Je založena na bohatém nářečním materiálu z druhé poloviny 20. století. Obsahuje řadu jazykových map s komentáři, jež zobrazují východomoravskou situaci v širších souvislostech. Vzhledem k postupnému zanikání našich dialektů je publikace jedna z posledních, jež ještě mohly zachytit mluvu minulých generací v naší zemi.

The monograph presents a comprehensive description of word formation in East Moravian dialects in relation to the geolinguistic situation. As a complex description of word formation in the chosen dialect group, it is the first work of its kind in our country. It is based on rich dialect material from the second half of the 20th century. It comprises many language maps with commentaries, depicting the East Moravian situation in wider connections. With regard to the gradual extinguishment of our dialects, the book is one of the last ones that have still been able to record the speech of the past generations.
