This chapter is focussing primarily on the utilization of HPLC in steroid research and its applications to the phytochemical analysis. It is reviewed the literature, class by class, focused to phytosterols, brassinosteroids, bufadienolides, cardenolides, ecdysteroids, steroidal saponins, steroidal alkaloids, vertebrate-type steroids, withanolides and structurally related cucurbitacines. Briefly is surveyed also information on the diversity and biological significance of that type of compounds.
