Paper describes novel method suitable for removal of non-ionic POE-based detergents and PEG or PPG polymers. The removal is done as solid phase extraction with the peptides bound to the reversed phase resin. The detergent or polymer molecules are washed away using chlorinated solvents. Several aspects of the method were carefully tested and its sensitivity was shown. It is suitable for removal of different non-ionic detergents or polymers on peptide or protein level and it can be easily automated. Its compatibility with hydrogen/deuterium exchange was shown and demonstrated on the mapping of full membrane protein
