A micro-radiographic system composed of microfocus X-ray tube and a large flat panel detector has been adapted for imaging complicated internal microstructure of trabecular bone under applied deformation. From the reconstructed cross-sections a finite element model of the microstructure was developed and loaded according to the experiment. Deformation behavior of the FE model was compared to the experimentally determined response of the sample.
