    Based on AF demagnetisation and magnetic experiments we know that remanent magnetization is carried by different magnetic minerals. Some of these remanence carriers are of detrital origin and some were formed during sediment diagenesis. The preliminary paleomagnetic polarity interpretation shows 9 normal and 10 reverse zones with several short time events in the study drill section. However, it is necessary to interpret the magnetic polarity record for each remanence carrier separately to obtain the detrital remanent magnetization record.
